Our Commitments
At our unique location set in the mountains on a working tea and rubber estate, we offer our guests a chance to be immersed in nature, history, tradition and culture.
In line with the principles of sustainable tourism, we are committed to the preservation of our local environment and the wellbeing and prosperity of our team and our community.
In all our activities, we follow our social and environmental principles to:
o Comply with all applicable regulations in terms of our local environment and biodiversity, the historical and cultural heritage, and health and safety.
o Reduce our environmental footprint, and implement actions to minimise pollution, improving eco-efficiency and using resources responsibly – whilst encouraging our guests to do the same during their stay.
o Preserve and encourage biodiversity and cultural heritage.
o Raise awareness of the importance of caring for native species.
o Promote the sustainable development of our tourist destination, facilitating business relationships with suppliers and local businesses in the region.
o Assess our performance to ensure the continuous improvement of our sustainable management policy.
o Respect human rights, promote fair labour practices, foster a safe and healthy work environment, and contribute to the development of our employees and their families, to create the best working conditions, based on diversity, gender equity and equal opportunities – for all employees of Rosyth Estate House and the Rosyth Estate.
o Extend the scope of sustainable management throughout the value chain, giving priority to socially and environmentally responsible suppliers, and encouraging responsible consumption among our guests.
o Work towards a commitment that 10% of all revenues generated from the tea estate are paid to our workers as a dividend on top of their salaries.
