The term ‘forest bathing’ or “shinrin-yoku”, is a term created by the Japanese but it is not a new concept. Many cultures around the world have long recognised the benefits to mental and physical health of immersing yourself in nature.
The Estate House is in the perfect place to enjoy shinrin-yoku. The practice is simple – walking in the rubber fields, tea fields and forest that surround our property. Our guides can conduct silent walks to allow you to consciously connect with the surroundings. A true immersion in nature is good for mental health, wellbeing and relaxation.
If you prefer to walk on your own, you can ask the team for some directions and enjoy forest bathing. The Estate and its surroundings contain beautiful walking trails & mountain biking routes over the rolling hills.
Guests are free to explore the estate and join the ladies plucking tea. There are also walking guides available on site for two of our local trails so you can independently explore our beautiful part of Sri Lanka’s Low Tea Country.
